The 22nd Annual HBCU National Tennis Championships

The 22nd Annual HBCU Tennis Championship were held at South Fulton Tennis Center on Thursday, September 14th through Saturday, September 16th. 

​

This 3 day tournament hosted 18 schools for a combined line up of 31 teams in total. 

​

Of the men's team, Tennessee State came out on top with 88 points, winning their first HBCU Tennis National Championship. For the Women's teams, North Carolina Central won it's first HBCU National Championship in its programs history! 

​

Dr. Carl Goodman, founder and executive director of The HBCU Tennis National Championship states that the reasoning for this tournament is to showcase the talent at HBCU's. He looks foward to the continued growth of the program. 

New SWAC Headquarters in honor of
Dr. James Frank

The Southwestern Athletic Conference, council of presidents and chancellors have announced the location that will serve as their new headquarters for SWAC operations. 

 

Located in Birmingham, Alabama the headquarters has officially been named the doctor Dr.James Frank building in honor of Dr.James Frank who served as SWAC commissioner from 1983 - 1998. 

 

 For over 50 years, Dr.James Frank rose the collegiate ranks as a student-athlete, coach, educator, college president and conference commissioner. 

 

 A formal ceremony recognizing the naming of the league's headquarters in honor of Dr. James Frank, will be held on a later date.

SWAC Baseball Champions: 
Florida A&M University

PGA Reach is hosting a golf tournament featuring a competitive line up of  Historically Black and Hispanic serving colleges from across The United States. 

​

This Line up includes: Howard University, Florida A&M , Savannah State University, Bethune Cookman University and many more.

​

The tournament will be held on May 8th - 10th in Alabama on the Shoal Creek Club & Brent Brook golf courses.
